Karan Johar hosts Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives cast at Art Mumbai 2024

The cast of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives graced ART Mumbai 2024, held at Mumbai’s iconic Mahalaxmi Race Course. The engaging session was hosted by filmmaker and the cultural ambassador of ART Mumbai, Karan Johar.
In a lively discussion, Karan Johar explored how art has seamlessly merged into pop culture. Joined by Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Bhavana Pandey, Kalyani Chawla, Shalini Passi, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the conversation covered their hit show, personal dynamics, and the evolving perception of art.
Karan Johar added a touch of fun with a pop quiz on art. While Neelam and Seema humorously admitted to their lack of art knowledge, the group dismissed author Shobha De’s recent critique. Adressing the same, Maheep shared, “A celebrated columnist wrote something about us. I think it is sad when a woman puts down another woman. But, I have to tell her that who reads about her any more anyway? We have given three seasons and guess what, it is already a blockbuster, so right now I think she is passé (a comment made by Shobha) too.” Seema echoed the same thought while Bhavana underlined that there is no “too”, Shobha De is passé.
The candid exchanges made for a vibrant dialogue blending well with Karan’s humour.
The session underscored Art Mumbai’s commitment to bridging art and pop culture, cementing its place as a must-visit event in the city’s cultural calendar. The exhibition showcased 71 galleries from India and abroad, along with three art foundations, that presented varied collections for artists, collectors and art enthusiasts.
